Located in the heart of London, the owners of this privately-owned, Grade II listed family home came to Chelsea Construction Company with some very specific goals; to introduce more light by rebuilding the rear façade, allowing for much larger windows, and to increase the available space through the construction of roof dormers in the attic as well structural work to the lower ground level.
The history and location of the building made the whole project significantly more complicated:
- The construction of a rear façade demanded temporary works to support the property
- Underfloor heating needed careful design and build up to maximise the heat output
- Air-conditioning was installed without impacting on the design or heritage of the house
